Well, work can be used to gain experience, more/better skills and you can make cash to sustain yourself with.
Work experience is always good especially when applying to college It's great to put down on your application. It could show that your responsible and hard a working individual.
Skills are always being obtained- even if they aren't useful right away. With this, you can always better skills you previously had like multi-tasking.
Money is always useful weather if it's used to buy a new flat screen or just paying bills. It's also used to buy things you need like, food, water, etc.
