Respuesta :

The fourth choice is the answer. Simon's death is the first evidence of the level of savagery the boys have reached. Before this, the boys killed a mother pig and cut off its head and placed it in a stick. They were already savages for food but killing Simon proves that the boys have reached another level of craziness.

It is D, his death.
