Quadriceps is the muscle group, when tightened, may directly deviate the position of the patella bone.

Quadriceps is the term which derives from the Latin four-headed muscle of the femur. The quadriceps femoris is a knee extensor and a hip flexor, and it consists of four individual muscles and three vastus muscles, also the rectus femoris. All these together form the main bulk of the thigh and collectively are one of the most powerful muscles in the body. Quadriceps are positioned in the anterior compartment of the human thigh.

The vastus muscles are the three of the four muscles that together make up the quadriceps femoris muscle of the human thigh. It helps to extend the knee joint, and it too contributes to the correct tracking of the patella.
