Plant cells have LARGE vacuole cells, since they need to store a lot of water to stay alive, grow, and keep their stems and leaves strong. They also store the water in case there is a drought, which then they would use sparingly and for some time until there is water again.
Animal cells have SMALL vacuole cells, since they don't need to store as much water as plants, and can move around to find water. If an area becomes to dry/not enough water, the animal would move to find an area with water, instead of stay in the same place, waiting for water to come back.
