In 1095 Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade with the stated goal of restoring Christian access to holy places in and near Jerusalem. During the crusade, knights, peasants and serfs from many nations of Western Europe travelled over land, and they were successful in the capture. And what two happenings are you talking about?
