Well , Gulliver kinda dozes off and windup sleep in a barrel , this is how he wakes up on a beach, he crossed the thresh hole in to his journey  

Answer: He sleeps in a barrel and when he wakes up he learns that he has arrived on a beach. The place is inhabited by Houyhnhnms.
