Use the Pyth. Thm. to calculate the length of MO:

6^2 + 8^2 = |MO|  =  36 + 64 = 100.  Therefore, |MO| = 10.
They are 10 units apart. DO this by finding the distance between two points. The equation is c=[tex] \sqrt{x} [/tex](y2-y1)^2+(x2-x1)^2. This leaves you with [tex] \sqrt{x} [/tex]100, which equals ten. This answer can also be justified by the Pythagorean Theorem. Tell me if you'd like more details. : )
