The oil is very dangerous to the habitat as a whole, because if one part of a system is messed up, the whole system is effected. Oil spills are difficult to manage because oil is hard to clean up, and it spreads. Oil gets on everything and anything, and is toxic to living organisms. It can take off the natural oil on waterfowl's wings, making it hard to swim and escape the oil.
